Fast and Furious Product RollOut

When Marcia Deem was charged with introducing her company's software product to a whole new industry AND help the company achieve a high bar of $3M in sales for the year, she had to work fast and smart! Her first thought was the industry trade show, to get the most coverage in the industry, but that trade show wasn't until June, missing over half the year's sales opportunity.

She ended up using a three-prong face-to-face marketing strategy to make the most of the product roll out. The elements were an Advisory Panel to get industry influencers on board BEFORE the trade show, appearances at 2 key industry events brought the company's message to the masses, and a sponsored hospitality event allowed the reps to form relationships with prospects.

Being first timers at the big industry show, the company was stuck in a far corner of the hall. Marcia knew she had to lure visitors to their booth, so she featured a Barista making selfies out of cappuccino foam, scored a speaking engagement for the new vice president, and the staff pulled out all the stops and took home Best Booth Staff Award!

ROI? An average return of $7 for every dollar spent, and the sales team closed accounts representing $4 million in projected expansion revenue.

Tech Knowledge

According to the results of Exhibitor Magazine's 2018 Marketing Technology Survey (click here), 84% of exhibitors are employing various technologies inside their exhibit booth. Technologies showing most growth in exhibit and event usage include mobile apps, smartphones, geofencing, and virtual reality.

Below are a couple of articles that suggest more ideas for technology usage at trade shows and events. As always, don't waste your money on a gimmick that isn't tied into your product or doesn't lure actual prospects to your booth.
